JaMese is a blend word, a telltale name of the band. On the one hand, it consists of the word Jam, which implies freedom, creativity and the delivery of tales-stories and thoughts. On the other hand, Emese refers to the name of the singer, Emese Molnár, whose personality epitomizes all these notions. Her love of tales and stories dates back to her childhood. She grew up in the countryside and often helped in the fields and in the garden. On these occasions her mom, who worked as a teacher, told stories after stories just like people did in the old times. Among these there were collections of rare Indian tales inherited from her grandfather, opera tales, folk stories or the story of a Fellini film. Such experiences served as an inspiration for her songs. While these fables are everlasting with eternal values, they are modern ones at the same time where the symbiosis of melody and lyrics creates the unique world of JaMese.
The band is going to release a new album in the spring of 2018. Similarly to their debut record (Csak a Napba) the new one, entitled Bennem a Világ, will also stick to the traditions. It keeps the eternal song structure but wraps it into a more mature musical world. In addition to Emese’s own material, the lyrics and compositions are also going to feature pieces by acclaimed contemporary Hungarian poets and songwriters.
