Lilla Orbay is one of the most prominent and versatile members of the younger generation of Hungarian jazz, participating in the work of her own band as a singer, composer, bandleader, and pianist. Their music draws inspiration from the melody-driven, atmospheric world of the 1970s, blended with modern arrangements and the band members’ distinctive improvisations. The band has gained recognition both in Hungary and internationally, having performed at festivals such as EuroJazz in Mexico City and the Amersfoort World Jazz Festival in the Netherlands, among others. Their first single, titled Paradise Ablaze, was released in December 2023.
