Opus Jazz Club
Featuring:
  • Dominik Bukowski - vibraphone, kalimba
  • Emil Miszk - trumpet
  • Adam Żuchowski - double bass
  • Patryk Dobosz - drums

Dominik Bukowski invited three outstanding musicians of the young generation: Emil Miszk, Adam Żuchowski and Patryk Dobosz to play in his new band. They released in autumn 2016 their debut, Sufia, with the participation of Amir ElSaffar, the excellent trumpet player from New York. The album earned wide critical acclaim, being ranked as one of the best jazz records of the year.

The band freely draws inspirations from widely interpreted ethnic music, mainly old Polish songs from Oskar Kolberg's collection, as well as from old Arabic music called Maqam, translating them all to the idiom of jazz and adding elements of modern music.

The Dominik Bukowski Quartet builds a cultural bridge between the Polish music traditions and that of the Middle East. The compositions of the band are interspersed with rich and expressive improvisations but give way to calm musical contemplation as well.

Tickets are available for 1300 HUF on the spot,
