Viktor Tóth is one of the most versatile figures in Hungarian jazz who can reveal his strong musical personality with the same effect as a virtuoso postbop musician and as a special interpreter of spiritual music. His playing is dynamic, yet with a sensitive expression, while he seeks to capture the energies of the moment. That is why he regards his collaborations with prominent musicians such as Hamid Drake, Bart Maris, Henry Franklin, William Parker, Piotr Wojtasik, or John Betsch as exceptional opportunities for learning and self-development. He formed Bird Food Market in 2012. The quartet’s music is a marriage of modern jazz and hip-hop, a re-interpretation of Charlie Parker's bebop legacy, a shining journey to never-seen worlds. Their concerts are characterized by the instantaneous rebirth of music, an avant-garde spirit, the sweeping pulsation of broken rhythms and a constantly high level of improvisation.
