AMP Trio (H)
- Péter Ajtai - double bass
- Szilveszter Miklós - drums
- Máté Pozsár - piano
Coming from the younger jazz generation of the country, the members of AMP Trio (= Ajtai – Miklós – Pozsár) are searching for the latest trends in free improvised music. Miklós and Pozsár participated in István Grencsó’s groups, while Ajtai gained reputation as double-bass player of Nigun and by his co-operation with Mihály Dresch. The spirit of Hungarian jazz’ great innovators and the compromiseless approach of the avant-garde of the sixties are both clearly felt in the music of the trio. AMP is one of the most radical formations of contemporary Hungarian jazz, an exceptional encounter of three great musicians. In November last year the trio performed with great success in Wroclaw on the Hungarian Day of the Jazztopad International Jazz Festival, as the youngest one among the three invited groups.
