Kristóf Bacsó is one of the leading figures on the Hungarian jazz scene as a saxophonist, composer and teacher. His wide-ranging work is also reflected in the fact that he has released five albums of his own compositions in recent years, ranging from trio through quartet and quintet line-ups to pieces written for a big band. Bacsó’s latest album, Let It Go, recorded with his band Triad, was released by BMC Records. The quartet will play songs from this album at the concert, but their program consists mainly of new compositions which blend stylistic elements of contemporary jazz, Hungarian folk music heritage and contemporary classical music into a unique musical concept in an exceptionally skilful manner.
