December 21st marks the 1000th concert at Opus Jazz Club since its 2013 opening. What better way to celebrate than having Mihály Dresch and his Quartet - one of the most outstanding and revered Hungarian jazz formations - perform?

The festive concert will be streamed live on Youtube. Details to come soon!

“Dresch is one of the most influential nurturers of a fertile fusion between Hungarian folk music and jazz”
John Fordham - The Guardian

“Oriented towards his Middle European legacy ..., Dresch never forgets his equally powerful jazz roots. Recapping of the head is mandatory throughout his compositions...”
Ken Waxman - JazzWord

“I realised that music requires the whole person, including who they are and where they are from – that’s what sounds through the instrument. I realised I would never be able to make music from the same impulse as Coltrane, Griffin, and the other masters. That’s how I came to need to play out my own experience. When I was practising, I noticed that while my first small pieces were taking shape, I was thinking of my grandparents. Ever since, this has been important: my loved ones should be present in my spirit.”
Mihály Dresch Dudás
