Jazz guitarist Zsolt Bende became engaged in jazz for a lifetime in Budapest, then ended up in the citadel of jazz education, Berklee in Boston, and today he has become one of the defining figures of Hungarian jazz life. His trio plays an age-appropriate version of straight ahead jazz with great persuasiveness. Their stories immediately captivate the listener’s imagination while being completely human. His latest album, Cycle of Change, was released by Hunnia Records. The Perspectives Project is a fresh spot on the Hungarian jazz palette, with the aim of combining classical forms with new ideas while creating an original sound. This evening, the trio will be joined by the versatile cimbalom player Miklós Lukács, enriching the formation's vibrant sound painting with additional colors.
